MEMBERSHIP

Cadet Membership - (Ages 13-16) Cadets will be involved in an activity based program designed for children ages 13-16. It focuses on fun and earning certificates of achievement while learning about American Legion Ambulance Service and why we care for others. Cadets will be trained in CPR, First Aid and receive other patient care training. The program will also teach members home and community safety skills and personal development. Cadets will participate in community service events and may participate in regular and special functions, meetings, drills, training and related ambulance activity. Cadets will not be permitted to ride calls or participate in patient care. Cadets must have consent of a parent or guardian to participate. Upon turning 16, Cadet members will be considered for Junior Membership.

Junior Membership - (Ages 16-18) Junior members will be able to ride ambulance calls and take part in all ALAS activities. Junior members will be trained in CPR and First Aid and will be encouraged to continue their EMS education. Junior members must have the consent of a parent or guardian to participate. Junior members must maintain a C average in school.

Regular Members - Must be 18 years of age. All regular members must be willing to be trained in CPR.

Associate Members - ALAS recognizes that not everyone has the ability or desire to actively participate in Emergency Services. Associate membership gives residents an opportunity to serve the community without taking part in patient care. Associate members will be at least 18 years of age. They will be able to participate in regular and special functions, meetings, drills, training and related ambulance activity but will not be permitted to ride calls or participate in patient care.
