American Legion Ambulance has a Cadet Program for Kids 13-16 years old. The members are all trained in CPR and First Aid. They are also certified in Blood-Borne Pathogens and have taken other classes in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Awareness and Prevention; Summer Emergencies; How to be a Responsible Person; Home Safety; Fire Saftey and other topics related to Health and Community. The American Legion Ambulance Cadet program is also a member of the National SADD Chapter---Students Against Destructive Decisions.
Although the Cadets are not able to ride calls at this time, upon reaching age 16 they will be considered for Junior Membership and will be ready and trained to participate in Patient Care. Cadet members also take part in the American Legion Ambulance Scholarship Program.
